spiritualinspiration:

“Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up” (Proverbs 12:25, NLT)
When you see someone who is struggling, a co-worker who is discouraged, a friend who is not up to par, how do you respond? Our words can be what keeps a person going; our compliments can put a spring back into their step. Now more than ever, we need to automatically let the encouragement flow. We need to tell others how much we love them, how we value them, and tell them that they are talented and creative. Always remember, with your words you carry life-giving water. You carry hope, healing, encouragement and new beginnings, and you can pour it out everywhere you go.
Today, choose to speak encouragement. Choose to speak victory and faith. Instead of telling people what they’re doing wrong, instead of pointing out all their faults, find what they are doing right. Focus on the good. There are already enough critical, judgmental people in the world. Let’s be people who lift up others and restore them. Let’s be the light of Jesus in the world.

Shaykh Ibn Baaz’s beneficial answer regarding backbiting

proudmuslimah9:

For many of us it’s hard to stop gossiping. We love talking, and in a lot of our conversations we end up talking about others negatively. Many of us have been the victims when it comes to backbiting, but we’ve probably also been the ones who partake it in as well. It may seem like a harmless act,…

naziafk:

Scholar replied. “Before telling me anything I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”
“Triple filter?”

“That’s right,” the scholar continued. “Before you talk to me about my friend it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you’re going to say. That’s why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man said, “actually I just heard about it and…”

“All right,” said the scholar. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?”

“No, on the contrary…”
“So,” the scholar continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, but you’re not certain it’s true. You may still pass the test though, because there’s one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?”
“No, not really…”

“Well,” concluded the scholar, “if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?”

O you who believe! Avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful. Surah al-Hujurat 49:12

Odd One Out

You just still don’t get it do you. Whatever lies you’re trying to say, it just doesn’t work. I know that you’ve stolen a piece of us and prominently myself by backbiting with others until they look at me in a slightly dimmer light.

Hypocrites.

You have a good heart but when it comes to keeping some stories to yourself and not making so many assumptions and allegations till it escalates into ridiculous one sided conclusions that I only got to know after some truth leaked from yourself, that just pissed me off.

But it’s alright, if I can’t make you understand, insyaAllah, He will make you realize that hidayah comes from Himself. And also, if a person is not a ‘role model’ now, it doesn’t mean that he’s never going to be one later.

I sincerely wish you well because you do have a good heart but you are just too overzealous to the point of being a redneck and judgmental. It’s ok, I wish you the best anyways because someone has to be the better person and I intend to be that person.

For you to ponder: Have you heard of the Sunnah/Quran that says backbiting is similar to eating the flesh of the person that you’re bad mouthing?

You’re all soldiers. Keep going.

You don’t want to get up. Why would you its just another day, or is it? Maybe its an hour or a week or a month or a year. Any amount of time has been blurred lately.. You feel lonely and maybe you shouldn’t, but you still do. You walk to the bathroom to get ready. You look in the mirror with…
